How Henritta Kosoko was buried in Abraka

It is no longer news that the remains of late actress Henrietta Kosoko was suddenly changed to be her hometown by her family members as against Atan cemetery that was previously announced by her husband, veteran actor Prince Jide Kosoko.
But contrary to the news making rounds that Prince Jide Kosoko did not perform her marriage rite thus the demand for her corpse by her family members,we gathered that it is the culture of the Urhobo people where she hailed from to bring their daughter home for burial except the family says otherwise. Another thing many had rumoured will take place before her burial was that certain rituals will be performed on her corpse to detail the cause of her death if natural or caused by man. NAIJ.com source who was among those that led the Kosoko’s family delegates to Abraka said nothing like that was done on her even when they too were scared of what they might meet over there.
According to a reliable source: “The Late Henrietta Kosoko came from a staunch Christian home. They are strong Roman Catholic believers and even have a Reverend Father among them. We were received warmly especially by the Rev father and Aunty Rita. Aside confirming her corpse nobody touched nor brought her corpse out of the casket. Immediately we got there we had the burial service after which she was interred and then another service after her burial. It was a peaceful burial programme despite the anxiety that has been raised in the media of the unknown fate that will befall those taking her corpse home and we thank God for is mercies upon us all. We are all back in Lagos safe and sound.”also gathered that though the widower Prince Jide Kosoko could not go to Abraka with his family to bury his late wife, the delegates from his family was led by renowned actor Lambert Dike.
Henrietta Kosoko died on Monday, June 6 after a protracted battle with diabetes. A service of song was held in her memory on Thursday, June 9 at the Blue Roof, LTV 8 premises in Ikeja, Lagos. A commendation service was held in her Lagos home in the early hours of Friday June 10 after which her corpse was taken to Abraka where she was interred that same day after a funeral service held in the Catholic Church, Abraka, Delta state. May her soul rest in peace.
