Dino Melaye after the wife of Bola Tinubu

The wife of the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu, Oluremi, has sought police protection from Senator Dino Melaye, Sahara Reporters says. Senator Tinubu, who represents the Lagos central senatorial district in the Senate, appealed to the Acting Inspector-General of Police after the minacious July 14 behavior of Mr. Melaye towards her during a discussion
She writes: “It was the timely intervention of a number of colleagues which prevented Senator Melaye from unleashing a physical attack on me. “However, as the leadership of the Senate did not call him to order in the circumstance, he proceeded to threaten my life without any provocation whatsoever.” Senator Tinubu recalled Melaye’s antecedents in the federal legislature, saying:
“particularly in the House of Representatives where a brawl led by him had led to the untimely death of a member.” Oluremi added in the letter that she decided not to neglect his threat to her life''
It is not yet clear if the Acting IGP has received Senator Tinubu’s request. Different senators who were present during the fracas told reporters that Mr. Melaye said he would beat up and impregnate Senator Tinubu and that he would subject no repercussions.

He later declined the reports, but not the fracas, without nooting exactly what he had said to Senator Tinubu during his outburst. APC leader Tinubu warned Mr. Melaye not to consider his own hype should he beat up another senator, saying the Kogi Senator had sunk to his “lowest ever.”

“From this point, it is downhill for him,” Tinubu promised, defining Melaye as “a disgrace to the Senate of the Republic‎.” A group of Lagos women loyal to Senator Tinubu on July 18, organise a street demonstration in the city against the harassment by Melaye. The women demanded a written apology for their senator.

Ghanian weight boxing champion defends Pastor TB JOSHUA

According to Ghana Times, Powers was reacting to accusations by a man of God in his country, Pastor Isaac Owusu Bempah, the General Overseer of the Glorious Way Chapel, who has warned his people several times to beware of Joshua, claiming that he is a false prophet and uses magic and evil powers to perform his miracles.
But Powers, however, lambasted Bempah for uttering those words, describing Joshua as the second Jesus Christ, adding that the prophet’s good works were enough to describe him as such.

Powers was quoted as saying:“There is absolutely no comparison between the SCOAN pastor and Owusu Bempah. Pastors like Bempah just envy T.B Joshua
Bempah you have been sitting down there doing practically nothing. If you want to talk about some prophets or any prophet, don’t mention T.B Joshua there, you are not his class. Prophet T.B Joshua no size o.
Prophet T.B Joshua is the second Jesus Christ; so some of the pastors, you people should not envy that man."It’s prophet T.B Joshua who gave me the money to buy a car, an Audi A4. How many pastors can do that? He feeds millions of people, pays school fees and so many other things,What T. B Joshua is doing for the world, can some of these pastors do them? They just use Bibles to cheat and deceive people, always talking bad about the good prophets.”

Fulani herdsmen attacked again

It was gathered that the incident happened during the Eid-El- Fitri celebration. Four persons were reportedly killed in Lamba, Paikoro local government, while another seven were hacked down during another fiasco between the same ethnic people in Barakuta in Boss local government area of the state. Punch reports that in Barakuta, besides the loss of lives, several persons were injured, property worth millions of Naira including houses, vehicles and motorcycles were razed and many others injured. The immediate causes of the fracas in the two communities were not yet ascertained as at going to press. However, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has vowed to bring mastermind and accomplices of the two clashes to book. Shocked by the wanton destruction of lives and properties including farm lands, the governor said

“Nobody has the power or right to take the life of others''

These senseless and unwarranted killings cannot and will not be condoned. You cannot just take machete and kill somebody because of disagreement. There are laws and nobody can claim to be above the law. Whatever maybe the grievances, people cannot take laws into their hands. I have instructed the chairmen of the affected councils, commissioner of police and my special adviser on security to fish out the masterminds of the two clashes as well as their accomplices. I have also directed for comprehensive investigations into the incidences with a view to prosecuting and bringing to book the culprits. We are determined to bring an end to this barbaric act. The Police and other security agencies should ensure that we get to the root of these sad events, prosecute and punish those found culpable”. The governor directed that while State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) ensures the comfort of the displaced persons, the police should provide adequate protection for the displaced persons at the camp. “I sympathise with you people over the unfortunate incident here at Lamba, now that peace as returned, I implore you all to go after your duties and business without fear. Government is on top of the situation and we shall ensure the security of our people and their properties, including their farms and animals,” the governor assured the people of Lamba. Meanwhile, the Chairman of Paikoro Local Government, Mr John Maikarfi told the governor that he had set up a 9-man committee to investigate the cause of the fracas at Lamba village. The state police Command spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana also told journalists that police and military had been drafted to the communities for joint patrol, adding that those arrested were being investigated.

Celebrity photographer TY Bello shares an xray picture of a bullet lodged in a soliders throat

Celebrity photographer, TY Bello, who just returned from Borno state, shared this photo of an xray showing an anti aircraft bullet lodged in a soldiers throat. and She wrote

“Soldier X:While I made portraits of our wounded soldiers at the military hospital in Maiduguri, one of the soldiers made a statement that I haven’t been able to shake off, “ one way you know a soldier has been hit is that they suddenly start shouting out names of family members.

“This statement kept playing over and again in my mind, especially when I got the most colourful welcome from my family, barely a week away on this journey. Many soldiers, play this long overdue welcome party in their heads daily, and the sad thing is that for some, it may never happen.

I had long conversations with soldiers about how they got wounded in battle. They told me how grateful they were to be alive, some of their colleagues weren’t as lucky. I also got to speak with medical personnel, on the uniqueness of their work in a war against terror. I’ll share all their stories here and start by introducing Soldier X, who I never met, but made a photograph of his Xray .An anti aircraft bullet, big and strong enough to tear through the titanium body of an airplane, was lodged in his throat, and for some reason, it didn’t blow his head off, this soldier lived through his surgery and got to take the removed bullet home as a reminder. This is a wicked wicked war!Why would anyone chose weapons made to attack war planes and use it on a fellow human … At close range ..Even in war there should be rules. Lieutenant Ologodo told me something really important, that if you don’t believe in God, working here will make a convert out of you, the frequency of witnessing the darkest of evil deeds, along side what can only be miraculous, will open your heart somehow. This is such a brutally wicked war !#tybellophotography #portrait#unknown soldier #Nigerianarmy #bokoharam #woundedsoldier #borno #war#waronterror

Alhaji Mujahid Abubakar Asari Dokubo declares this support for Niger Delta Avengers

Asari Dokubo has said that he will not dialogue with members of the Niger Delta Avengers and declared his support for them. The militant group has claimed responsibility for the bombing of oil and gas pipelines in the region which has affected the oil production and economy of the country. In a statement via his social media page, Dokubo said he would not condemn the activities of the militants and claimed President Muhammadu Buhari was planning a genocide against the south east and south south region of the country.

''The public should note that I, Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari,Alabo Edi Abali -Abala Buruburu 1 of Kalabari had not entered, directed, appointed or delegated any person or group of persons to negotiate or enter into dialogue with any president, vice president, governor, minister, national security adviser, any committee or institution in furtherance of the Nigerian states pretension to the pursuance of peace in the occupied Ijaw, Niger Delta Region and The United States of Biafra(USB)''
''Therefore, anybody who had presented himself/herself claiming to me or represent me in any manner of discussion, fora or conference in furtherance of this pretentious negotiation or dialogue is a fraud and therefore should not be accorded any recognition, as a person representing me, the Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Front and Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force. I am convinced and firmly believe that the occupation gambari and their collaborators in the Nigerian state led by General Muhammadu Buhari is not interested in any or in any type of peace in Ijaw, the Niger Delta Region, In the Territories of the United States of Biafra or even in any part of Nigeria. The body language of General Muhammadu Buhari is to carry out a genocide and a pogrom against the Ijaw, Niger Delta and the United States of Biafra (USB). Therefore, there is no way I will be hoodwinked to be part of any sham that the government of the Nigerian state led General Muhammadu Buhari is masquerading as negotiation or dialogue that will lead to peace in the aforesaid territories….The same way the bride Amnesty was introduced-which I and the volunteers rejected-was used to bribe the faint hearted amongst our compatriots, the cult gangs and fraternities, and the criminal elements in the Niger Delta to allow the our hydro carbon resources-which is our God given and exclusively belong to us- to be freely extracted to satisfy the extravagant and immoral appetite of the gambari and their collaborators…Today most of the recipients of the Amnesty bribe are full of regrets and wish that they turn back the hands of clock. In furtherance to the above stated reasons, I have no cause to be part of any negotiation or dialogue in the present General Muhammadu Buhari contrived crisis in the Ijaw territories to give him an excuse to carry out his well thought out plan to execute his genocide and pogrom against us….since I am not a member of the Niger Delta Avengers or any of the other internet groups trying to obliterate the shine of the heroic explores of the Niger Delta Avengers….Some people had severally opined that if I am not an Avenger I should publicly disclaim them…Why should I do so? What is my business to be a busybody in this matter? Why should I take pannadol for someone else headache? I will never disclaim, denounce or condemn the Niger Delta Avenger….For I am a known advocate of this truism that for every action there must be an equal and opposite reaction….You can’t sow to the winds and expect not to harvest a whirlwind in return''

''Finally, the public should know that I am not part of any negotiation or dialogue and had not mandated, nominated, appointed or authorized any person or group of persons to represent me in any dialogue or negotiation with the government of the Nigerian state led by General Muhammadu Buhari. My believe is that only a SOVEREIGN NATIONAL CONFERENCE with the resolution for a PLEBISCITE SUPERVISED BY THE UNITED NATION can lead to permanent peace in Ijaw, Niger Delta and the Biafran territories''

Thank you
Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari

JAMB informs that admission checker portal would be opened soon for the new process

JAMB informs that admission checker portal would be opened soon for the new process,Students seeking admission may have gotten a lifeline following a new set of guidelines by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). According to The Nation, the board on Monday, July 4, explained that the new guidelines for admission process was made through its website following consultations with universities and other tertiary institutions in the country. The new admission process would work for candidates who wrote the examination and direct-entry, with the board explaining that universities would collect screening fees from candidates at the end of admission process. The board stated: “Before a candidate can be considered for screening, he/she must have been given provisional admission by JAMB. The JAMB admission checker portal is going to be opened soon for this process, so praying is all you can do now.”

Explaining further, JAMB stated that the point system where admission would depend on the point tally of the candidate means: “JAMB’s provisional admission no longer makes much sense this year, your points tally will decide your faith. “The points are evenly spread out between your O’level and JAMB results to provide a level playing field for all. “In the first case, any candidate who submits only one result which contains his/her relevant subjects already has 10 points, the exam could be NECO, WAEC, GCE etc, but any candidate who has two sittings only gets two points. So, this means that aspirants with only one result are at an advantage but only just.” Candidates also have more chances of gaining admission with better grades in their O’level thus: A – 6 marks, B – 4 marks, C – 3 marks.

In addition, the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scores also have implications during the admission process. 180 – 200 (or 20 – 23 marks), 200 – 250 (or 24 – 33 points), 251 – 300 (or 34 – 43), 300 – 400 (or 44 – 60 points) as well as five JAMB results per point added. The admission board informed also that a candidate with 180 – 185 gets 20 points, a candidate with 186 – 190 gets 21 points, stating further that the point system for direct entry will be released soon just as fees would still be charged for screening which has replaced the post UTME.

The statement read further: “It then comes down to the fact that fees will still be charged for screening, it depends on the school as well. “Merit contains 45 per cent of the total candidates for a particular course, catchment contains 35 per cent and ELDS and staff lists contains the rest. “Cut off marks will be released by schools this year in the form of points and not marks. If a school declares it’s cut-off mark for Medicine as 90 points and JAMB grants a candidate with 250 a provisional admission but his/her total points falls short of the 90 points, then he/she will lose the admission. “So, the provisional admission is just a means to an end, not the end in itself.” Meanwhile, the federal government has reiterated its desire to place a permanent ban on the Post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME). This much was disclosed by Malam Adamu Adamu, Nigeria’s minister of education, who confirmed that the initial ban on the exercise, stated categorically that it (the ban) takes immediate effect. According to a press statement obtained by Leadership, Adamu said he had to emphasise the ban so as to ensure that no stakeholder is left in doubt on government’s position.
This New guidelines seems to favour new applicants
