Nigerian Bar Association introduce employment fair for new wigs

Mr Augustine Alegeh, the President, Nigerian Bar Association(NBA), said the association would introduce employment fair for lawyers and new wigs to enable them secure employment in leading law firms.
Alegeh stated this on Thursday in Benin during the opening ceremony of the National Executive Committee meeting of the association. He said the programme would be organised at all the campuses of the Nigerian Law Schools in July.
``The programme will inform them on leading firms prior to their cell to Bar.

``Also the association has opened an employment portal for young lawyers that are seeking for jobs,’’ he added.
Edo Chief Judge, Justice Cromwell Idahosa, who spoke, said that the successful implementation and enforcement of the stamp and seal policy of the NBA had helped to identify a real lawyer.
"With this, nobody can boldly walk into any court registry in Nigeria to parade himself as lawyer when he is not.
``It has brought the level of quackery prevalent in the profession to a minimum level, and also reduced the level of evasion among lawyers in paying their practicing fees/dues to the association " Idahosa said.
Mr Kenneth Mozia (SAN), the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the NEC meeting, said the members of the association were pacesetters and trail-blazers.
,’’ Mozia said they must continue to be beacon of light by providing the footprints for our nation to be transformed,’’
