Peoples Democratic Party senators have withdrawn their support for President Muhammadu Buhari,
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators caucus in the upper chamber of the national assembly have withdrawn their support for the President Muhammadu Buhari’s-led government. The lawmakers announced their decision at a press briefing at the National Assembly on Wednesday, June 22. The PDP senators listed the alleged continuous victimization of its members by anti-graft agency, proposed trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki and his deputy Ike Ekweremadu for alleged forgery of senate standing rule as part of the reasons for their grievance against the APC-led government.In a statement read by Emmanuel Bawcha, deputy minority leader said:
“We condemn the plot to remove the senate president and his deputy through illegal means. We will no longer cooperate with the APC government until they cease their belligerent acts.”
