Mrs Buhari issued a five-day ultimatum to the governor demanding a full retraction of the widely-circulated material issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi.
The Nigerian constitution however provides the governor immunity against criminal prosecution.Meanwhile, the United States government has said it has no information on the alleged criminal offence committed in the country by Mrs Buhari.
