Tanzanian court sentence Nigerian man to jail

A Nigerian man identified as Joachim Ike, has been sentenced to a life time in jail by the Moshi High Court in Tanzania, for drug trafficking.he was convicted of the crime after being found in possession of  7kgs of heroin, valued at Sh300 million.Ike was arrested on May 11, 2013, at the Kilimajaro International Airport, Tanzania. 
Judge Benedict Mingwa turned down the defence counsel’s plead to have the offender serve his jail term in Nigeria,The judge insisted that Ike must serve his punishment in Tanzania, since he committed the offence in the country.
while giving his judgement stated that the evidence presented to the court proves without any doubt that Ike is guilty of the crime.
He said, “The evidence produced by the prosecution, along with the testimony provided during this case clearly shows that the accused person committed the offence.”
Ike was arrested during a routine check at the country’s international airport.
